Raj Manickam

There are very few days in a year I don’t have my camera with me. When drawn to a scenic landscape or wildlife encounter, I often pause to capture these moments. What really speaks to me is when I come to contact with human-interest stories that may seem so mundane yet stoking for a narrative to be shared or written. I find myself doing this often in the form of a photo essay. I grew up and lived in South East Asia for more than three decades before coming to the United States just over twenty years ago. I am appreciative as a witness to the double entendre from both the perspective of my world view.

Studying photography is a never-ending journey. As an amateur photographer, I am learning by practicing as often and observing the works of others. With mentors and many well-wishers, I have become an unabashed light-seeking photographer.
